About the Co-Curators:

Kate VanVliet (she/her)

Kate VanVliet is a multi-disciplinary artist who utilizes printmaking, multiplicity, and repeated actions in her practice to challenge and examine ritual, invisible labor, ephemerality, and collecting through a feminist lens. Parallel with her studio practice, VanVliet is a founder and co-director of BYO Printmaking Collaborative. VanVliet received a BFA from Moore College of Art & Design in 2007, and teaches printmaking at Cheltenham Center for the Arts. She has been an artist in residence at Vermont Studio Center and Cheltenham Center for the Arts, and completed a Flat File Residency in the Printmaking Department at Tyler School of Art in fall 2024. In 2024, she participated in the New Voices program at Print Center New York, and has been a recurring visiting artist at Moore College of Art & Design and Arcadia University. She mounted a solo exhibition, theoretical gore point, as a 2025 recipient of the WIND Challenge. She is represented by Paradigm Gallery + Studio.

Jessica Aguilar (she/her)

Jessica  Aguilar is a writer and arts professional from Prince George County, MD. She holds a Bachelor’s in Art History from Tyler School of Art and Architecture where she fell in love with the murals, mosaics, and wheatpastes of Philadelphia. She was a 2023-2024 participant of the Arts Writing Incubator at The Black Embodiments Studio in Seattle, WA, with a published essay in A Year in Black Art. She is a regular contributor to Art Spiel and has been published in several art publications across the U.S. Guiding both her writing and creative processes are interests in nostalgia, identity, and gender expression through Latine perspectives. She aims to make the art world accessible to all communities while working at Paradigm Gallery + Studio and writing casual exhibition reviews on her substack.
