apply for an internship at byo print

BYO Print hosts 1-2 interns for two-month sessions throughout the year, with an intensive internship through Moore College of Art & Design June-August annually. The next term is Feb-March 2027.

About the internship:

BYO Printmaking Collaborative is a 501(c)3 nonprofit community printshop and collective of printmakers. Interns work closely with the co-directors who are working artists, and as artist assistants to the Studio Artists who work at BYO Print.

Interns should be familiar with at least one printmaking process offered in the studio (silkscreen, relief, intaglio) and be able to work independently. This is a hands-on, potentially physically demanding position. BYO Print’s internship is unpaid, but we encourage students to leverage the experience for credit at their academic institution.

We are seeking students or recent graduates with an interest in printmaking (silkscreen, relief, intaglio, etc) for a part-time internship who will work primarily with the founder and studio manager to manage day-to-day operations of the printshop. Interns will be responsible for opening and closing the printshop, routine cleaning and equipment maintenance, and occasionally monitoring of the studio for guest users. They will be responsible for overseeing safe use of the equipment while monitoring the space.

Interns can also act as Artist Assistant to Studio Artist members, and gain valuable experience working one-on-one with Philadelphia printmakers.

In exchange, interns have unlimited access to the printshop for their own practice during the building’s open hours, and opportunity to participate in whatever special events, print sales, or projects concurrent with the internship period.
